Meeting the Code - Insulation Design

As we face the mandatory code level 3 October 2010 let us share some of our product information on solutions which help the budget when building with masonary design.

The example demonstrated is using Knauf Insulation and is a very cost effective solution which does not compromise on performance and would help reach a level 3 resolve.High levels of energy efficiency are key to the solution with long term performance and an insulation material which is sustainable.

Key drivers in the Design:-

1. Cost effectiveness

2. Easy install

3. High standards of moisture resistance

4. Thermal efficiency.

Walls would have full-fill 100mm Knauf DriTherm Cavity Slab 32.

DriTherm Cavity Slabs are semi-rigid or rigid slabs of non-combustible glass mineral and are manufactured using a high content of recycled glass bottles.

· No need for retaining discs or cavity barriers

· Quick to install

· More cost effective than the rigid foam boards

· Whole range is BBA certified for all exposure zones.

· 35 year longevity.

· Full cavity design has minimal heat loss.

The Cavity Slabs are rigorously tested and have 50 years guarantee with prevention & transmission of water from the outer masonry leaf to the inner masonry leaf. This insulation offers an array of benefits while remaining a cost- effective and sustainable option
